This is Not Enough

Hey there everyone. I failed.

I was supposed to post this on Monday, but after the weekend I had, there was just no way. So, now it’s Thursday and I’m going to give you the abridged version of the article I had planned to write. Here is the crux of it:

Make friends who read comics because it will save you money. Borrow the living hell out of their collection, thereby alleviating the necessity for you to buy those comics. For the obsessive collectors among you who can’t stand to not own everything, I understand. I really do. I am one of you. But get the hell over yourself. Borrow your friends’ comics. Lend them yours. It’ll be good. I promise.

In Which Things Turn Out Well

Sorry about the late comic and such, Remus is working on finding better work and doing many better paying important things and he is away from home so getting the comic at all was sorta lucky to be honest.
In the side of good news though, I, me, the roguishly charming Koltreg, have been able to escape the bonds of fast food labor to work at a comic book shop in the heart of Pittsburgh. This means I get paid to know about comics and talk about them and to sell stuff. Hooray! If you live in the area and want to visit now or in the future it is Comic Book Ink on Smithfield and Blvd of the Allies. The one with lifesize Hulk model. I am excited and the blog, this comic and a few other things are my main reasons for getting the job.

News Update: Page Reduction

So the pages will be reduced from two to one for an indefinite period of time so Remus is able to not get himself burnt out and so he can have a social life which is a most noble endeavor. He is currently working on an additional comic that is a lot more work.
No set date for when we will post but it may likely be when it can.
In the mean time it is my hope to work more on the site, set up some stuff like donations (since sending money is always nice) and so on.
Chapter 3 is going to be great and we are getting closer too it. It is easily my favorite chapter so far.
Also I am going to look into submitting the comic to publishers again. While it would mean you would have to pay for Socialfist I would do my best to produce something free online.
Also I will go back through the archives adding transcripts, etc.

Thanks Everyone

So, I got google analytics working again and the site seems to be running about 10 views a day or so and considering I am not advertising anywhere and a majority of links are direct views from people I know, I am pretty satisfied. Thanks for helping out with all this by reading. If you wanna share the comic with friends and such, feel free to help me by doing that as well. I am a firm believer in good deeds and reciprocality of those deeds meaning I am more than happy to spread that onto others and make the world a better place.
So yeah, spread the love, join the forums (since it is dead and the moderators are bored) and just generally continue living a good life and helping.

Back on Friday

Friday we should be back up with a new page, I have chapter 3 75% done and I will be at the Small Press Expo in case I have an readers who will be there. I will be hob nobbing with the webcomic big wigs and passing out mini versions of the comic. Then I have finals week followed by two weeks of vacation in which I hope to finish the site somewhat.

Hiatus

Socialfist will be on a hiatus until next month, around the second week of September. This is due to Remus getting a job that pays a lot so I can support him on that, since I can’t financially support him.
In this time I will attempt to work out the rest of the wordpress site and we will hopefully be able to replace some Chapter 1 pages with errors (continuity wise).
