Hobo Run

Postby Duffinator » Sat May 29, 2010 10:33 pm

Hey all. Sorry I haven't been on the forum recently. It has come to my attention that there is some interest in having a basement run soon. I know Sebastian Stone is in, and I'm always up for some hobo fun so I'll open it up. Anyone else that wants a go at it post here.
Please claim your boss fights, and as always Happy Adventuring.

Claiming bosses:
Ol'Scratch
Frosty
Oscus
Zombo
Chester
Hodgman

I'm in!

I'd like to tackle Ol Scratch, or Frosty, or Zombo (or all of them!). I just don't wanna be a hog =)

I'll be running naked through Market killing as many hobos as I can without taking off any of their limbs etc.

Also I'll take on any boss that gets left if no one else fancies a go at them.

I would also like to say now that I would quite like Hodgman's lobsterskin pants if they happen to drop. If thats okay with everyone?

Hey all, Diggles gathered parts to make scarehobos. I've made one and she made one, but she wanted to give everyone a chance to assemble one just for kicks. So those are ready and waiting.

If we're serious about solo'ing Scarehobos are a vital part of reducing those turns.

I just figure you've worked the hardest at clearing out the market square. I got my moments of fame as it were with chester and oscus :)

I am in but I am probably not able to actually down any bosses as of yet. I am what you would call my lack of levels.

Just kill what you can. Hobo's are worth a reasonable amount of XP.

They help a great deal if you're trying to get a low turn count.

But not so much if you're not.

That's why I tend to just farm for nickels, as making the basement turn lower is only really making our overal experience shorter.

is there some sort of average number of turns that get knocked off per scarehobo?
i can see that for individual runs you'd want a lower turn count to get it all done sooner but with the whole clan in on it we kind of want to get the most bang for our buck.

From the Wiki "The hobos in the central area have roughly 400 HP. If you deal 505+ damage of a single type to them (it doesn't have to be in one hit) you will "overkill" them, leaving behind hobo parts. There are six hobo parts, one for each element, plus physical damage. Having a full set of six hobo parts allows Richard to make a scarehobo, killing ~8 hobos. Overkilling hobos effectively allows you to kill slightly more than 2 hobos at a time. However, if you overkill hobos you will get no normal drops, including nickels. So, scarehobos are a choice between speed and loot."

I think they equal to 8 hobos.
so 6 adventure to get all the parts, plus over killing kills about 2 at a time.

So, 1 Scarehobo (6*2)+8= 20 hobo's

I was looking at old hobopolis logs for a minute. One of the runs in 2009 with the least amount of turns used had 260 turns consumed by gnawing on cages. That's a lot! I'm glad we don't have to do that anymore. Every time it happens to me I get upset because there goes 10 adventures. So yay to us for doing so much better.
